Marshall & Wendell Upright Reproducing Piano

Upright Piano

This piano was built in 1924 and has what is known as the model A Ampico Reproducing action in it. (image shows the piano in it's unrestored condition)

I have completely rebuilt the piano and the reproducing action and it has taken me two years to complete. Having only just finished it in May’95 . I restrung the piano rebuilt the piano action and everything else you can think of including replating action brackets and having the case repolished. Believe me you need plenty of patience (of which I ran short of from time to time).

The rewards are certainly worth it in the end when the instrument finally comes to life for the first time in probably 30 or 40 years.

I have around 200 rolls I can play on this instrument, from popular (for the 20’s anyway!!) to classical most of which I enjoy immensely. These same rolls will play on the grand when I finally get it restored.

This a picture of the Marshell & Wendall since it has been re-strung and new hammers installed.
